1927 yellow country English cottage in California

This is another fabulously charming L.A. Eastside cottage featured by real estate agent Vanessa over at Soulful Abode. I just love the stuff she posts from her neighborhood. So much character!

This yellow 1927 English cottage-style home is currently listed on the market for $499,000.

Have a look inside…

The barrel vaulted ceiling…the fireplace… the arched and multi-paned windows – you can tell already it’s going to be a goodie!

This quaint home features 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, PLUS a detached guest cottage, all on a tiny 4800 square foot lot.

But it is so well put together…

The galley kitchen is exceedingly tight but what it lacks in space it makes up for in charm…

Look at those vintage cabinets!

Below is the bright yellow good-morning-sunshine breakfast nook. If this doesn’t put you in a joyous mood for your Cornflakes and OJ, then I don’t know what will…

Cute little backyard patio (below)…

At first I thought that was laundry hanging there (staged to look kitschy). But upon closer look, I think those might actually be prayer flags, or poetry flags… I’m beginning to see those in North American homes with some frequency.

Behind the cozy house is an even cozier guest cottage…

The guest cottage has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom.

If you can look past the open concept closet, it’s a sweet space – crowded – but sweet.

And finally, the peaceful backyard SoCal garden…

Hope you had a kickin’ papa’s day weekend!

Some of you may have noticed that my site was down for most of Saturday. [Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!]

I’m having “bandwidth” issues, and I don’t even really know what that means. My tech person says that she needed to triple my bandwidth because I post so, so many photos.

Hopefully that solved the problem – we can’t live without our daily dose of house eye candy!

If you ever get that ‘bandwidth exceeded’ message again when you visit House Crazy, have patience, and please come back again in a couple of hours!

(It’s only a matter of me pulling out my hair while frantically trying to get in touch with my tech gal!)  :)

Love the cottage and am joyously eating my cornflakes with OJ. I have not seen prayer flags before, that is interesting. Whenever a house has a guest house, it makes my heart go pitter-patter and my opinion about the house goes sky high.
Hi Sarah, I am stopping by to say how much I love, love your site as I am your twin over at my blog Housekaboodle and I just followed you on twitter.
I will be stopping by again soon. Oh, congrats on your stats!
