Cozy up in a cave
Cave dwellings have been around forever. Since at least, well, Fred Flintstone’s era anyway. But they are not very common in our modern age. You hardly ever see those things anymore.
So when I came across the Beckham Creek Cave Lodge, I was awestruck.
Located near Jasper, Arkansas, this cave lodge is right in the heart of Ozark country.
This place is really built right into a cave – there’s no other way to put it. You will be touching rock when you go feeling around for the bathroom light.
Green home in Mexico – wow!
Welcome to Casita Dos Arbolitos. The English translation of that name means (roughly): House of the Little Trees, or, more literally – according to my Mexican husband Lupe: little house two little trees.
Priced reasonably at $167,500 USD, this home in central Mexico is another artistic wonder.
This adobe house, built in 2006, is 1,300 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Green features include: solar panels, passive solar components, composting toilet, and a rainwater collection system.
Around the ‘hood
I like to have context when I view a house (where is it, what’s the neighborhood like, what’s the weather like) so I thought I would share a little more of my world with you…
My house is located in a historic commercial district right in downtown Canon City, Colorado. I walked my spastic, crazy dog around this past weekend and was able to snap some pics of my neighborhood.

This remarkable home is located not too far from the house where I grew up in a rural area outside of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
Colorado Springs stone show-stopper
This gorgeous old stone house is a bit of a surprise. It is stunning inside and out.
But put it this way: the insides don’t match the outsides.
Currently for sale near downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado, this beautiful home is listed at $364,900.
It features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in 2250 square feet. It was built in 1895.
Gorgeous stone facade – so I was expecting elaborate Victorian period decor inside.
But instead, it looks like this:
