This gorgeous lady is located in a historic district in Tarpon Springs, Florida. She overlooks a deep bayou just minutes from the Gulf of Mexico.
She’s just as beautiful inside as she is outside…
(That’s the enclosed pool & spa.) I came across this historic beauty on Kelly’s wonderful Old House Dreams website.
This 1885 home is currently listed for sale at $990,000.
The home has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms in over 5,000 square feet.
Every inch of this Victorian beauty has been meticulously restored and maintained.
Have a peek inside the kitchen with very shiny pressed tin ceilings…
Right off the kitchen is a family room.
Office area where it would be impossible to get any work done (due to the amount of time you would spend gazing lovingly around the room)…
The large lovely master bedroom is a dramatic blue color…
(Notice Van Gogh’s Starry Night on the right wall?)
Even more impressive is this amazing master bathroom:
The stained glass windows are historic and the floor and Greek columns are marble.
Interestingly, Tarpon Springs Florida – where this house is located – has the largest per capita population of Greek Americans of any city in the United States.
Love the vintage toilet!
Another fun fact about Tarpon Springs: the early local industry was “sponge diving” until a a red tide algae bloom occurred in 1947 and effectively wiped out all the sponge fields in the area. This historic event caused most of the sponge divers and sponge boats to switch to shrimping.
