I just love this house…

It’s a little crazy – so OF COURSE I love it!

Located in Mount Dora, Florida, this stunning 1917 “storybook Cape Cod cottage” is currently on the market for $529,000.

Reflecting the style of Old Florida with a gabled tin roof and architectural accents, this home is bordered with a picket fence, moss-laden oaks, palm trees and clusters of bamboo.

The exterior is adorable, but the interior is downright FUNKY!

Fire engine red upholstry, canary yellow walls and a little leopard print mixed in!

This stylin’ vintage home features 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms in 2,488 square feet.

If you can take your eyes off the glaring color and gnarly animal prints, you will notice all the amazing architectural detail…

… original heart-pine floors, abundant built-ins, cabinets, French doors, and stoned-trimmed fireplace – divine!

The kitchen, although bright, is a bit of a departure from the rest of the house’s decor:

Updated to accommodate its current use as a lovely bed & breakfast inn, the kitchen features cherry-wood cabinetry, granite countertops, bamboo flooring, a Jenn-aire gas stove with electric oven and KitchenAid side-by-side refrigerator.

But the fun continues in the bedrooms…

So much to stimulate the senses!

And last (but not least) – the “Forida room“:

Just adorable! (I’m in love!!)

You know I’m smitten, but how about you? Can you handle such a cornucopia of color and design – all under one roof?

No problems waking up in the morning, just take a quick walk around the living rooms.
I agree with you about the kitchen. Needs different cupboard finish, something a little more out there to keep in line with the rest of the house

I like it too! This house really shows some personality, which I like. I agree with Greg, the kitchen cabinets need a different finish–painted a bright color maybe.

  • Marcia Flanders says:

I love it! The kitchen definately needs some paint on the cabinets and some personality, which is oddly missing considering the rest of the house. Overall I really like it, I’m not crazy about some of the decor but looks like all the original details are still preserved and it’s all beautiful – and I do love the exterior! 🙂

Why would anyone have their kitchen photographed that way with a 16.00 white toaster on the counter not to mention that stupid checked towel?
