Colorful craftsman in Las Cruces, New Mexico

Las Cruces, New Mexico is located in the expansive Mesilla Valley of southern New Mexico. The city is like an oasis in an otherwise arid landscape with palm trees and pecan orchards. Most of the architecture is typical of the desert southwest – adobe, Santa Fe style, Spanish style or modern neutral new construction.

So this gem of a house stood out to me when I was recently checking the Las Cruces listings:

I’ve stayed in Las Cruces before and absolutely loved it. We’ve considered it as a place to relocate, but decided it was just too far from a major airport. (But that doesn’t mean I don’t still peruse the local real estate!)

I am SMITTEN with this colorful craftsman:

Currently listed for $290,000, this cute cottage has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in 2303 square feet.

It was built in 1918, but has been extensively updated and impeccably cared for.

The bedrooms are extremely spacious:

So much to excite the senses…

…but not overdone. It’s classy and comfortable.

Just a gorgeous, artistic home filled with custom touches…

Another one of those artistic souls must live here!

New Mexico is very affordable in most areas – even the prices around Santa Fe have come down since the housing market took a dive. I love it down there! Good luck!
