My house
Here she is:
A brick Gothic Revival home, built sometime between 1874 and 1882.
We are located in a historic district in a mid-sized town in south-central Colorado.
Here she is from the back-end:
Have a peek at the inside:
And back outside… my lovely lady in full-bloom:
She’s creaky and she’s old, but she’s still a sight to behold.
For all the details on my beloved old house (and for many more interior pictures) see this post I did on her, and this one as well.
Enjoy!

your house is so narrative, so heavy with story, I am searching for the right words. So rich? So wonderful.

Beautiful!
I really like the brick coloring, gives it some charm. The inside is very nice too, especially the kitchen!
Thanks! I like to think of the brick exterior as being covered by lace (if you kind of squint your eyes)
love that kitchen! i just LOVE old kitchens!
Hi Sarah I love your blog , and love the info on old houses. I especially liked the 1925 Sears house, So charming !! . and your house is wonderful. I love old kitchens and have one myself as you know. . If I were you I wouldn’t sell your home to anyone that wants to gut the kitchen. I’ll keep watching your blog. It was fun. Your Canon City neighbor. Jan Sylvia Say Hi to Noe for me.

Hi Sarah. I live in Canon so have passed your house a lot of times. I have always loved the look of it. It’s a real stand out. I also am a sucker for old houses. Love all the history stuff. And I collect antiques. I also have just retired from the prison you mention only now it is called Territorial Prison or Old Max. Saw a lot of pictures of it from the early years. I’m glad I found your blog so I could find out more about your house. Paula

How do you keep your wood floors so nice and shiny? What products do you use and not use????
Mary, I use only Swiffers – dry, then wet once or twice a week.
I love your current love-house. Most likely a lovely farmhouse, looks like it could have even been a schoolhouse or a chapel!
I can’t believe you haven’t been able to sell this beautiful old house! It is so lovely!
