“Never lived in” Colorado log mansion for sale

I don’t know what the full story is behind this massive 5,099 square foot log home in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, but it was built in 2007 – obviously with no expense spared – and the realtor says it was “never lived in”.

It is an estate sale so it was probably not a happy ending for the (former) owner/seller.

But this place is so magnificent, I had to give it some attention. (Not to mention that it is built from “Canadian full round log”.)

If you are a fan of log cabins, you would be in hog heaven here:

This log masterpiece is priced at $1,325,000. It has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.

Some of the luxury features:

“Wine cellar, clean in-floor heat, central vac, wet bar in the lower level theater/game room, steam room for 8 and 4 car garage. There are too many amenities to mention. But wait! It just gets better! There’s the separate, fully furnished and appointed 1,044 sq’ guest house with 2 bedrooms.”

Can you even technically call it a “cabin” when it is over 5,000 square feet?

This place is the height of rustic elegance.

The kitchen is nicely done with the current kitchen trends (stainless/copper/slate) and has one of those popular “pot fillers” over the range:

The house even comes with its own steam room for those cold Colorado nights:

Divine!

Have a look at the massive master bedroom:

It’s huge but still feels cozy to me because of the warm wood floors, log walls and log beam ceiling.

The thing I adore most about log homes is that they always feel so unpretentious – even the big fancy ones.

The estate is located on over 35 acres of land including a high ridge with views and pasture below.

Enjoy complete privacy, the benefit of no homeowner’s association, magnificent mountain views and be only 5 minutes to downtown.”

Sounds like heaven on earth to me!

Have a look at the interior of the “guest house”…

Very cute and cozy.

For the complete listing, see here.

I hope that the former owner (RIP) has found his/her dream log home up in house heaven… because it is a crying shame that they never got to live in this grand one!
