….there was this beautiful fairy tale Victorian shingle home.
And it was for sale!
It’s definitely one of a kind – I’ve never seen anything like it before. Except for perhaps a Dutch windmill combined with an Orville Tracy cottage with cat slide roof.
The home was built in the year 1900. It is situated on a lakefront lot on Lake Orion, in Lake Orion Village, Michigan (a couple hours north of Detroit).
This uniquely designed home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in 2,314 square feet.
It is listed for sale at $419,000.
The home has been thoroughly updated and modernized, but it is still completely charming and inviting.
The kitchen has been completely revamped, but it retains a quaint cottage-y feel.
Dreamy bathroom:
An even dreamier little girl’s bedroom:
How sweet is this???
All of the bedrooms are large and light-filled.
Out the windows, you have close-up views of Lake Orion…
The property has 2 docks and 2 towers – the tower in back [or on the lake front] was built to function like a lighthouse!

Wish I could steal this and bring it home with me or move in right now! This one touched my heart and might be your best find yet!
Amazing little home,I always liked lighthouses and windmills and this reminds me of both.
To everyone who sees this, it is worth the time to go to the listing agent’s web site and search for this home. There are some additional photos plus the floor plan for all three levels. I am seriously in love!! It’s way too much house for me as a three year out empty nester but wow!
