A reader contacted me about this amazing church converted into a private home in Wisconsin that is for sale! The owner is interior designer Cynthia Weston so you can bet there is something interesting going on inside.

However, if you are thinking that the decor of this former church has been featured in some haughty design mags, think again.
The interior of this Lake Mills, Wisconsin home is more like a dizzying regurgitation of art, color, and pop culture bric-a-brac from around the world (and across the time-space continuum).

It’s CRAZY.
You are reading House Crazy, after all.
Indeed, the mark of true creative insanity is the hanging of a Dale Chihuly blown glass fixture – as seen on upper the left corner (below):

Square footage of this sweet conversion is around 6,500.
List price is $799,900.

(I get the feeling that some former parishioners may be turning over in their graves and mumbling bitter expletives.)
The great room is not the only jaw-dropper; each and every room has its very own unique personality.

The designer even went a tad minimalist in one room:

But color, texture and pattern abound in – nay – COMMAND most every other room.

This 1901 English Gothic-style church is now zoned as “multi-family”. But the listing states that it only has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There are just a lot of rooms jammed in here!

Among the many spaces in the “Weston church” are a library, a wine cellar, a sauna, and a huge private office.
And the rooms keep coming.

(I call that one the purple ‘n’ pine room.)

Outside is a luscious garden….

I think after creating her masterpiece, the designer slept for a year or two to replenish the creative juices.
