Robin’s cozy cape cod cottage
Fellow blogger Robin from Decorating Tennis Girl has the cutest Cape Cod style house in Illinois…
Robin has owned this house since 1985 when she purchased it from the original family who had lived there for over 40 years.
That’s right, this pretty house has only known two families in its lifetime!
The home is a vintage Cape Cod built in 1939 and lovingly cared for over the years.
Come on in…

As her blog name indicates, Robin loves decorating her Cape cottage and often changes things up depending on the season…

I know it’s a little early, but doesn’t the Christmas decor put you in that cozy winter nesting mood?
Or maybe it’s just the inherent sweetness of a Cape Cod interior?

The built-in cabinets and knotty pine paneling are wonderful vintage features that have been well preserved in this house.

The kitchen is humble and cheery – perfect for a 1939 Cap Cod style home!
Robin’s most prized kitchen appliance is this Frigidaire Flair from 1965…

This nifty vintage stove reminded Robin of the one on the 1960′s show Bewitched. It did not, however, come with the house. Rather, she scored it on eBay recently and replaced a newer stove with this old beauty. [see her blog post about it here]
Says Robin of the Flair:
I love the double oven at eye height and the burners pull out and slide back in when not in use. It is built like a tank. It cooks like a dream.
They literally just don’t build ‘em like that anymore!
Kudos to Robin and her family for preserving and nurturing the charming details of this quintessential Cape Cod style home.

Thanks Robin!
