The 1860 Lucinda Manning house for sale in Massachusetts

This wonderfully restored Cape Cod style home was built in 1860 in the area of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The current owners purchased the home in 1976 and spent the next 30-plus years renovating and restoring the home.

Being a woodworking teacher and craftsman, I have enjoyed restoring this old home.

The homeowners also built a timberframe addition to the back of the home…

The owners are moving to another area of the country so they had to put their beloved house up for sale. It is offered FSBO at $435,000.

Inside, they have taken care to preserve the vintage feel of the home:

I really like what they have have done with the dining/kitchen area…

According to the floorplans, the kitchen/dining and pantry rooms are in the newer addition, but they were designed to blend right in with the original 1860’s house.

Speaking of the floorplans, here they are:

The decor is so appropriate for a house from this era – the sellers have paid a lot of attention to detail here.

I’m betting this sunny corner nook in the pantry is a favorite puttering-around space…

So humble and cute!

This home is clearly adored and well-kept by its current (and long-time) owners. It is seeking some new caretakers to see her through the next 30 years and beyond.
