Okay, so they are not identical twins. More like fraternal twins. But now you can buy these two historic sweethearts for the price of one – how about $140,000 for both!
These side-by-side separately deeded homes were built in the late 1700’s and the have been remarkably preserved. Each is loaded with vintage character. They are located on a tree-lined historic street in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
They are offered for sale individually as well; the green one for $72,500, and the white one for $67,500. Both have 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.
165 N. Hanover Street
Both homes date back to the 1780’s but I think this one wins the curb appeal award.
It is the more expensive of the 2 ($72,500) – but that’s hardly going to break the bank!
A bright red door welcomes you in…
There is a quaint covered porch in back:
There is also rear patio and fenced perennial yard.
And now for house #2…
167 N. Hanover Street
The lesser attractive twin is priced at $67,500. It does have some very unique features such as the stained glass transom above wooden entry door.
I’m loving the exposed brick wall – that is 200+ year-old brick folks!
My favorite feature is in this next room…
See that cupboard on the right?
It’s a peek-a-boo fireplace!
This house also has a small back porch:
And a little bit of a yard:
Which twin house do you like best?
Just before going to publish this post, I checked the status of these two homes, and the first one (green with the red door) is already under contract! So it looks like they will be sold separately. Either way, they are a great deal.
