Victorian mountain cottage
This house is a complete treat for the senses…
Sweet Victorian cottage in a quaint Colorado mountain town? Yes please!
Built in 1879, this adorable yellow cottage is currently for sale in Ouray, Colorado.
Here’s how it looked for Christmas:
I don’t know what visions come to your head when you think of Colorado, but in my mind, this is the quintessential Colorado house with those stunning Rocky mountains in the background.
The asking price is a steep $549,000 for this 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home.
But look how charming it is:
The pictures are a bit blurry, but you still get a sense of how precious the home is.
This Victorian home features inlaid hardwood floors, vintage tile and pressed tin ceilings.
There is also an atrium/breakfast room just off the kitchen:
And speaking of the kitchen…
The vintage cabinets and red sink almost make me overlook the yucky white appliances. Not that I would prefer something newer and more expensive in there.
Give me some vintage appliances and I am in hog heaven!
The home also has a very charming Victorian bath:
The bedrooms are cozy and sweet…
Of course the grass is always greener on the other side, but how could you not want to look out your window at this view?
If you’ve never heard of Ouray, Colorado, then you are truly missing out. It is an old mining town in southwestern Colorado with a pristinely preserved core of gorgeous Victorian-era homes and buildings.
If you are a western history lover, or an old house lover, it is a must-see!
Ouray is known as the “Little Switerzerland” of Colorado for obvious reasons…
Did I mention they have hot-springs there?

Oh gosh, what a wonderful place to be able to live, hot springs and mountains! I like the house with all its charms. Nice kitchen that would rock with red appliances.
yes, like one of those red vintage fridges!
Sweet blog! I love this cottage – now I want to plan a trip to Ouray!
